Dear Clients,
ANL Shipping line has announced to the market that they are applying a Peak Season Surcharge for all cargo into Australia ex;
- S.E.Asia
- India Subcontinent
- Middle East & Gulf
The applicable date is for all containers departing on or after the 1st AUG 2024 from origin ports.
With the advertised amount at USD550 per 20’ cntr and USD1100 per 40’ CNTR.
Outside of the above notice from ANL, we have also received notice from industry bodies that MSC are no-longer accepting bookings into AUSTRALIA and NEW ZEALAND, that go via Singapore.
This is due to a significant backlog in Singapore, with unconfirmed reports that it's to be over 7000 containers.
With MSC ceasing bookings, this places unprecedented pressure on the remaining shipping lines given the current level of bookings.
We have seen a shortage of booking space already in Fremantle and Adelaide due to this, with pricing also increasing.
The uncertain times and volatility continues
