Dear Clients, MARKET UPDATE NOV-24 (V2) Chinese New Year 2025 As the Chinese welcome in the year of the snake, we remind you that Chinese New Year in 2025 starts on the 29th Jan which is more than 2 weeks earlier than normal. That will leave a short 4-week period from our traditional Christmas/New Year period to when the factories in China close. Demand for ocean space is expected to start to increase from the second week December. General Rate Increase Notifications With demand expected to start to increase again from the 2nd week of December, carriers have gone to the market with GRI notices. Departures from North and Central Chinese port to AU East Coast from the second week of December will see arrivals first week January as business come back from the Christmas/New Year break. As always, Transways will only be adjusting your pricing should the carriers apply the increases.
