Dear Clients,

MAJOR WEATHER EVENT || TC ALFRED – MAR-25

UPDATE 1

With Tropical Cyclone Alfred, due to make landfall this week along the South East Queensland (SEQ) coastline, as a precautionary measure, Maritime Safety Queensland (MSQ) has suspended vessel arrives into the Port of Brisbane until further notice due to heavy swells. A further update is expected shortly confirming all berthed vessels will be forced to cease operations (loading & unloading) and be required to evaluate the port, i.e. be forced to head out to sea.

Impact to cargo will likely be felt across the eastern states as vessel schedules are thrown out of sync. How bad this will impact the market, is an unknown. With the situation at the port being fluid as we await TC Alfred to cross the coast in the coming days. We will provide further updates once details come to hand and we suggest watching media reports on the situation.
