Dear Clients,
EXCITING LARGE SCALE PROJECT – COMPLETED BY TRANSWAYS
MASS TIMBER PROJECT – JAN 2025
Transways Logistics International was recently entrusted to move 20 oversized lengths of timber from Europe for a key infrastructure project for the South Australian government.
Meticulous planning over a 6-month period enabled the smooth and safe transport of 37 metre long timber beams, which will be used as part of the roof structure for the new Adelaide Aquatic Centre.
The load port for the project was Zeebrugge in Belgium with the goods shipped to Melbourne via the support of our shipping partner Wallenius Wilhelmsen (WWL) on their RoRo vessel the PARSIFAL. From the Port of Melbourne to the final destination in Adelaide, the trucking required 5 x extendable floats (trucks), 11 x pilots and 9 police escorts to move this oversized cargo efficiently, legally and promptly.
We are now into the second stage of the project handling 25 x 40’ cntrs. Including customs clearance, wharf pick up, unpack, warehousing and delivery to site of the roofing system.
This is Transways 4th Mass Timber project during the 2025 Financial Year (previous ones in Melbourne and Sydney) and one we are extremely proud to have been chosen to provide services for.
You can see a short video which our shipping partner WWL put together. Transways will have their own video published once the installation and completion of the project, has finished, demonstrating the various stages.
We hope you enjoy the video.
