Dear Clients,                  

Effective immediately the Department of Agriculture Water and the Environment has added China to the BMSB list of emerging risk countries for the remainder of the 2020 / 2021 BMSB season.

As a result of this addition, certain goods manufactured in or shipped from China will be subject to increased random inspection. Goods selected for inspection will be required to be unpacked at a Quarantine approved premises at the importers expense.

These heightened measures only apply to the following items:

  • Plastic Goods
  • Stone or Cement Articles
  • Ceramic Products
  • Glass and Glassware
  • Articles of Iron or Steel
  • Machinery and Mechanical Equipment
  • Electrical Equipment
  • Ships, Boats and Floating Structures

The current BMSB season concludes on the 30th April 2022. Goods shipped after 30th April 2022 will no longer be subject to these measures.
