As expected, with the recent sharp decline in ocean freight pricing ex CHINA into AUSTRALIA. Ocean carries have started to return to their usual pricing cycles and action. Several major ocean carriers including the below list have announced a General Rate Increase (GRI) @ USD500 per 20’ and USD1000 per 40’. Effective from the 1st APRIL 2023. 1. COSCO
This is in conjunction with numerous blank sailings on major routes over the coming several weeks. In an attempt to drive up demand. Space capacity is plentiful at the current time, along with equipment. We will be eagerly watching the success of their GRI and blank sailing action, to see what impact (if any) it has on the market. We would encourage you to factor in the price increase at the current time, and as always, Transways will only be passing on increases should they be applied. Kind regards,
